Storm Safety Essentials

Preparednessbefore landfall

Hurricane damage does not end when the wind stops. We teach the hazards that catch families off guard in the hours and days after the storm passes.

Family Emergency Plan

Build a written plan with out-of-state contacts, meeting points, and communication strategies so your household knows what to do when cell service fails.

Go-Bag & 7-Day Supply

Stage non-perishable food, water (one gallon per person per day), medications, documents, and lighting so you can sustain your household through extended outages.

Evacuation Zones

Know your zone before an advisory is issued. We walk through how to read county evacuation maps and decide when to shelter in place versus leave.

Generator Safety

Never run a generator indoors, in a garage, or near windows. Carbon monoxide is a leading cause of post-storm deaths. We cover proper placement and ventilation.

Downed Power Lines

Always assume a downed line is live. Stay at least 35 feet away, do not touch anything in contact with the line, and report it to your utility company immediately.

Chainsaw & Debris Hazards

Clearing debris after a storm is dangerous work. Training covers PPE, safe cutting technique, and when to wait for professional crews instead of going it alone.
